Follow these simple steps to install the PromptAgent Chrome extension and start automating your AI prompting workflows. Eliminate copy/paste and boost productivity.
Locate the downloaded PromptAgent.zip file on your computer.
Unzip/Extract the folder to a permanent location (e.g., your Documents or Applications folder).
Note: Do not delete this folder after installation, as the extension runs directly from these files.
Open Google Chrome.
In the address bar, type chrome://extensions/ and press Enter.
Alternatively, click the three dots (top right) → Extensions → Manage Extensions.
In the top-right corner of the Extensions page, find the toggle labeled Developer mode.
Switch it ON. You will see three new buttons appear: Load unpacked, Pack extension, and Update.
Click the Load unpacked button.
In the file browser, navigate to and select the folder you extracted in Step 1 (the folder containing the manifest.json file).
Click Select Folder (or Open).
Click the Puzzle Piece icon (Extensions menu) next to your address bar.
Find PromptAgent in the list and click the Pin icon to keep it visible for one-click access.
Because this extension is installed manually, Chrome may occasionally show a small popup saying "Disable extensions in developer mode" when you restart the browser. This is a standard security feature. Simply click "X" or "Stay enabled" to keep using PromptAgent.
